Read receipts in your inbox
One tick means sent. Two ticks and a number mean it was read, and how many times. No need to open anything.
Free while in beta
Peeped adds read receipts to Gmail. See who opened your email, when, and how many times, right next to the message.
How it works
No setup and no new app. Peeped works inside the Gmail you already use.
Install it from the Chrome Web Store. It takes a few seconds, and there's no account to make.
Write and send from Gmail like you always do. Every email you send is tracked for you.
One tick means sent. Two ticks and a count mean it's been read. Hover for the details.
Try it
Send an email in this pretend Gmail and watch what Peeped shows you. Nothing is actually sent.
Hi Alex, are you free for a coffee next week? I'd love to hear how the new job is going.
Hover or tap the ticks to see who read it.
Features
One tick means sent. Two ticks and a number mean it was read, and how many times. No need to open anything.
Hover the ticks to see each time your email was opened and how soon after you sent it.
A desktop notification as soon as someone opens your email, even when Gmail isn't open.
Tick Send separately and everyone gets their own copy, so you can see exactly who opened it.
Spam filters, security scanners and Apple Mail preloads are told apart from real reads.
Privacy
Peeped is built to know as little as possible. Here's exactly what it does and doesn't keep.
Peeped never reads or copies what you write. Subjects and recipients stay in your browser, not on our servers.
Our servers keep a random code for each email, when it was opened, and which app or service loaded it, so bots can be told apart from people.
We don't store your recipients' IP addresses or where they are. Peeped answers one question: was it opened?
Who it's for
Know if a recruiter opened your application before you follow up.
See which leads are interested, and reach out again while it's fresh.
Check that the invoice or proposal was opened instead of guessing.
See whether your group actually read the update before the meeting.
FAQ
Peeped securely marks each email as you send it, so it can recognise the moment that email is opened. It then filters out bots and your own views, and shows the result right next to the email in Gmail.
